Our Story

The ACO was founded in 2019, based upon a simple idea. To create a platform on which to meet and connect with musicians from all around the world through a shared passion for music. First and foremost, the orchestra is for the community. It's a way to meet others, share a drink, rehearse in a fun and informal setting, and provide an opportunity to revisit ones musical instrument.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Today, the orchestra runs one season a year of 8 rehearsals, followed by a public community concert. Since launch, we've completed 8 seasons, from our Christmas Concert at the end of 2019 and a medley of well-known Film Themes, which we nimbly navigated during the height of the pandemic, to Sounds of the Seasons at House of Woodstock in Amsterdam Noord in March 2026. Along the way we've grown to about 30 musicians from more than 10 nationalities, with a wider community of 300+.
